Modusdom is run by NY Screens Media LLC in Brooklyn, New York. We register domains, host email, and handle the technical bits for professionals, agencies, and small businesses who'd rather hand it to someone capable than spend an evening reading help docs.

Why "Modusdom"?

From modus operandi — the way you do things — plus dom, as in domain. Together it just means: the right way to handle your domain.

Domains look simple. Anyone can click "register" on GoDaddy. But getting all the parts right — the privacy settings, the email setup, the things that prevent your domain from getting stolen, the renewal that doesn't lapse — takes attention. Most big registrars don't pay attention. We do.

What we believe

• Quiet beats loud. No upsells in checkout. No popups suggesting a different name. No marketing emails. We sell what you asked to buy.
• Honest beats clever. We quote you a fair price up front. No "$0.99 for the first year then $24.99 forever" tricks.
• Humans beat automation. You email a real person. You get a real reply. Often the same day.
• Stewardship beats churn. Your domain is identity — often more durable than your business. We treat it like it matters.

How we make money

Domains by themselves are a thin-margin business. We make our money on the setup and management work that surrounds them: getting things configured right, fixing what's broken, handling changes, brokering acquisitions.

We're happy to register a single domain for a flat fee with no ongoing relationship. We're also happy to be the long-term steward of a 200-domain portfolio. Both are fine. Both are honest work.

The technical backbone

We're a partner with OpenSRS (part of Tucows — one of the world's biggest domain companies, in business since 1993). When you register through us, OpenSRS handles the technical chain behind the scenes. You're the registered owner. We're the people you talk to.

You own the domain. You can take it elsewhere any time with no penalty. We don't hold anything hostage.

The annual summary

Every January, every ongoing customer gets a one-page summary listing every domain we manage for them — what's expiring when, what we recommend, what they're paying for. Nobody else does this. It's our favorite part of the job.

Where we are

Brooklyn, New York. Most of our clients are across the United States. Calls happen on Calendly. Office space is a coffee shop and a laptop.
